{Mood Board Monday} Etsy Artwork

I am so excited to participate in my first Mood Board Monday link party with Sarah at Pewter+Sage.  I haven't created a mood board since college (and I am still a little new to making it on the computer) but I had a lot of fun creating this room for a pretend client with no budget!!

Sarah's challenge is to create a room around one of three unique pieces of art from creative Etsy artists. I choose to work with Carl Christensen's photo "Romance of Fall".
Isn't it beautiful?! I chose this piece of art because of the rustic feel with the trees and the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves.

For this board, I set out to create a rustic yet beautiful space with a modern color scheme. My color scheme was pulled directly from the photo- the yellow of the leaves, the gray of the sidewalk and the white wooden fence.  I also incorporated many rustic elements to bring the "nature" in.
I'm still learning when it comes to mood boards but I enjoyed putting this one together! Make sure you hop over to Sarah's blog and check out the other mood boards. They are all gorgeous!

  1. Hi, Laura!!! I'm so glad to see a new face here at Mood Board Monday. And wow, it does not look like its been awhile since you've done this...this room is gorgeous!!!! (So right up my alley.) I'm so excited that someone used this photograph as their inspiration, it is so beautiful! I am so loving your paint color choice, the faux bois rug (awesome!), this cool combo of chairs, the adorable bird plates!! And anyone who knows billy buttons is a winner in my book:) You did such a fabulous job, thank you so much for playing along!! Can't wait to go check out the rest of your blog:)

  2. What a beautiful room! I LOVE everything you've chosen: the rug, the table, and the curtains are such a great soft balance to the chunky rustic table. Great job :)

  3. Laura, your board is gorgeous! I am in love with the light fixture and the rug you chose. The whole space is so happy yet very chic. It looks like you haven't skipped a beat since your creating your last mood board a while back.

Looking forward to sifting through your blog!

  4. LOVE this...that rug is one of my favorites and so perfect for this room and the photo inspiration. Such fun details too, down to the gorgeous gray wall color, what time is dinner?!

  5. I love your moodboard Laura. I thought that was a beautiful photograph but wasn't sure which way to go with it. The colour scheme you've chosen is perfect and I love the classic vibe in the room! :)

  6. Visually stunning board. You have captured the colors and theme wonderfully. The rug extends the whole woodsy idea while adding a soft texture to the space. I have always like those beautiful drapes. Great table, too!
