How Early is {too} Early?
Just how early is too early to start decorating for Christmas? I have had the itch to start spreading the Christmas joy around the house and it is not even Halloween yet! I love the rustic glam idea for decorating this year- neutrals and metallics and maybe a little burlap! Look at some of my inspiration that I hope to get working on soon!
So when do you start decorating? Am I crazy for wanting to deck the halls already? Maybe I will just start on a few projects and wait until closer to Christmas...

Alexia & Beau {October 15, 2011}
I wanted to share a little bit about my cousin's beautiful wedding up on Petit Jean. Not only was the backdrop gorgeous but every single detail of the night was perfect!
The wedding sight was directly above the wine shelter and took place right about sunset.
The bouquets were lovely!

and the Bride and Groom both look stunningly beautiful/handsome!
This is my favorite part of a wedding! So sweet!
Isn't she gorgeous!
and that dress!!!
The reception was absolutely beautiful! The rustic-yet-elegant tables were dressed with china and silverware along with candles, glass and silver vases, and gorgeous flowers! The tables had white tablecloths and burlap tablecloths layered on top!
And just a few more of the lovely details!
Congratulations Alexia and Beau! We wish you all the best!

Petit Jean Vineyards
The property around my uncle's cabin is just as gorgeous as the home .
He has stone firepits and picnic tables spread out across his 80 acres to sit at and enjoy dinner cooked over the large firepit or just to watch the sunset over the pond.
He has recently planted a vineyard that we hope is up and going in about 4 years! Our family loves a good glass of wine!
To store all of his wine, he has converted an old storm shelter in to his new "Wine Shelter". I figure if you have to wait out a storm, why not wait it out with a glass of wine! (I'm starting to sound like a wine-o!)
The old pump house for the pond got a face lift right before the wedding. My aunt and uncle had a gorgeous water feature built around it and it added a gorgeous backdrop to the wedding (more on that soon).
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and fall was just setting in! If you ever get a chance to go visit Petit Jean in the fall, it is well worth the trip!

House {Cabin} Crashing- Moosehead Lodge
My aunt and uncle own a gorgeous cabin up on Petit Jean Mountain. We have come up here for family get-togethers like Thanksgiving and Father's Day but also just for weekends to get away since I was young. My uncle bought it 20 years ago and it was always the same cozy and warm cabin as I remember from my childhood. A little over a year ago, the second floor flooded and fell through to the basement. This has led to some major renovations and let me tell you, the cabin is absolutely wonderful! Still has that cozy cabin feel but in a fresh new way! So without further ado, Welcome to Moosehead Lodge!
I apologize for the iPhone pictures. I left my camera at home.
The new bathroom is AH-MAZING with the new stone shower and green walls! The antler pulls on the drawers add a fun touch.
After going up these {stunning} two toned stairs....
you land in the "new" den. Before this space was a glass entryway that was rarely used. This is a great use for this space as it adds seating to the living room.
The second/main floor is one great space. The living, kitchen and dining are all open allowing the natural light spread from the front to the back. It too has a great fireplace and cozy furniture.
The kitchen has been updated with concrete counter tops with a copper covered island and shelves above the river stone backsplash.
The drawer pulls are also copper.
The third floor is the Master Suite which is all open.
The bed is hand carved with a moose head...and I love that kilim rug...
The bathroom is {maybe a little too} open {for me} but still pretty awesome with a shower head in the ceiling.
and off of the Master Bedroom is a large private deck. What a great place to have a cup of coffee!
Below that deck is a back porch that is open from the main floor. Both double doors open to allow the living space to continue out onto the flagstone patio.
I love the charm of the rusty tin ceiling they installed and the industrial feel to the lights.
And who wouldn't love that view!!
Check back tomorrow to see more of the lovely property- including the new vineyard and wine shelter!
