The Painted Rug

I love a bold geometric pattern and a fun color combo! I really think they make a statement on a rug. Rugs can be pretty pricy but many people have found creative and budget-friendly ways to make their own statement piece from a simple Ikea rug. Check out these great designs!

All of these rugs started with a basic rug from Ikea-
It looks like it comes in two sizes and prices range from $40 to $60! A steal for a 6' x 8' rug!!

There are so many great patterns out there there to choose from. Hopefully I can make a trip to Ikea soon and get started on my very own!

Autumn Mantel

My autumn mantel has (halfway) come together! Everything is in place but it still needs a little tweaking in the next few days.
I have big plans for this plain grapevine wreath that involves tons of prickly pine cones and maybe a little glitter!
I love the so-ugly-it's-cute gourd, squash, pumpkin... whatever it is in the middle! I just couldn't pass it up!
These pumpkins have been dying for a little color! They're pretty the way they are but I could see a modern pop of fall colors.

What all have you decorated for the season? Be sure to check out all of the great fall mantels at the It's Fall Y'all Link Party at The Lettered Cottage

Wishlist Wednesday

I have started a wishlist for some amazing design books! Not only are they great to look through but they add such a fun pop of color to a bookshelf or coffee table!

What other books should I add to my wishlist? Let me know where I might be able to find these on sale!!

Happy Fall Yall!

Happy Fall Y'all!
Fall is right around the corner (according to the weather man- 4:05 a.m. on Friday morning)! I am in the mood to do a little fall decorating to really get in the spirit!

So far I have made a wreath for our door.

I bought the flowers, pumpkin, and berries at Hobby Lobby and made the sign from an old board out behind our shop. (I won't go in to detail on how I cut the board- I'll just say it involved no modern or electric tool and I wouldn't suggest trying it at home...)

But I'm not done with my fall decor! Take a look at some inspiration from all over the blogland....

Stone Inspiration

Ever need a little pick-me-up or words of encouragement to get you going? I found a project on Pinterest and knew it would be easy to do and something I would love to see everyday.
The best part about this project is that it was FREE!

The stones came from our last trip to the Little Missouri Falls. I'm not sure if I was supposed to leave with pockets full of rocks... but I did...
I found quotes and favorite Bible verses from all over Pinterest and wrote on the stones with a paint pen!
(I ran out of big rocks so this one wraps front and back!)
Then I placed them in a small wooden bowl that was part of a wedding gift. So simple! Could be a great gift for friends with quotes or just personalizing it with names or initials!

Wishlist Wednesday

I don't want-wish this mirror.... I NEED-wish this mirror! It is the Devon Mirror from Z Gallerie!
Z Gallerie
I have been admiring this lovely mirror for some time now! I mean... just look how gorgeous it is!
I would put mine right above our bed in our Master Bedroom. I have been tweaking that room a lot lately and hope to finish it enough to show you soon.

I absolutely love it! I keep praying it goes on sale (by a lot) or someone surprises me for my birthday or Christmas (which are both coming up!) Hint Hint!
